UAE motorists have another reason to take extra care on the roads this month. The Ministry of Interior’s annual Accident-Free Day campaign will take place on August 31, giving eligible drivers a chance to have four black points removed from their driving records.
Registration for the campaign opened on August 17. Drivers can sign up through the link shared by the Ministry of Interior and complete the process using UAE Pass. After accepting the safety pledge and terms, participants receive a certificate by email.
Signing up is one thing, but that’s not all. Drivers have to follow traffic rules and avoid violations through August 31 to be eligible for the four-point reduction.
The campaign is really about getting the basics right. Keep a safe gap, don’t go over the speed limit, buckle up, and stay in your lane. And please, no phone use while driving. Drivers also need to give way to emergency vehicles when they approach. Nothing complicated—just safer habits on the road.
The campaign falls on the first day of the new school year, when traffic around schools and residential areas is expected to pick up.
