Historically, Dubai Creek divides the city into two main sections, Deira and Bur Dubai. Bur Dubai is the historic district, which is located on the western side of the Dubai Creek and Deira.

Gold Souk


This is a historical and traditional Arabian marketplace which has about 300 jewelry shops. This is the best place to buy jewelry at the cheapest rate. Here the current price of gold is advertised all over the souk, whether you are buying or not, so definitely for gold lovers it is the best place to visit.

Grand souk Deira


It is also called “The Big Souk”, once it was the largest and most important market in Deira., It is still a wonderful place to wander to see and smell all types of the Herbs and Spices, and to admire the amazing textile market.

Dubai Creek


It is a saltwater creek that was very valuable in Dubai’s history. Dubai Creek is a top tourist attraction in Old Dubai. Visitors love to take an abra, the old wooden boat at Deira Old Souk Station. It is an amazing experience to take a short boat ride which will transport you to the other side of the Creek to Bur Dubai.

Dubai Heritage Village


Dubai Heritage Village is located in the Al Shindagha district, it is a well-preserved traditional Arabian village.  You can see the history and tradition of Dubai by visiting here, Dubai Heritage and Diving Village show Dubai as a fishing and pearling nation.

Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum’s House


This was the residence of Sheikh Saeed, the grandfather of current Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, from 1912 until his death in 1958. Now it is a museum where important documents and photographs are displayed.

Dubai Museum


It is situated in Al Fahidi Fort, which is the oldest building in Dubai.  Here visitors can see the history and tradition of Dubai and all its antiquities.

Bastakiya Quarter


The Bastakiya Quarter is a historical neighborhood that lies along the bank of the Dubai Creek, and it is one of the best places for tourists to visit. The rich merchants lived, and beautifully preserved traditional Arabian homes with barrels or wind catchers, are well worth seeing. There is a maze of the narrow alleys in Bastakiya district but one can find a lot of things of interests, like unique shops, cafes and art galleries.
